Recycling

Cartridge Extra is committed to the reuse and recycling of used Inkjet Cartridges, Toner Cartridges and printers. Where possible we will collect the old cartridges and printers from our customers and dispose of them in the most environmentally responsible manner.

Many of the inkjet cartridges can be refilled and reused so these go into our exchange program SWAP n GO while the cartridges unsuitable for us to reuse are forwarded to those companies which specialise in refilling. Old printers which are broken and not able to be repaired are recycled through E-Waste at the local recycling centre. Recycled cartridges and printers are reduced to retrieve their metal products and the plastics are manufactured into Plastic Wood products for use in outdoor applications where they have proven to be extremely durable for council seating and playground furniture etc.

Where ever possible we are looking to reuse and recycle to reduce land fill and use sustainable practices to reduce waste, preserve resources and ensure a sustainable future. We are a member of the Better Business Partnership Sustainability Project which assists businesses in achieving positive environmental outcomes. This project is an initative between the NSW State Government, NSW Environmental Trust, Sydney Water and the local councils of Ku-ring-gai, North Sydney and Willoughby. The program helps to deliver Success through sustainability to local businesses and Cartridge Extra is a active participant in this very worthy project.

Cartridge Collection

We offer a free Cartridge collection to all local businesses with our cartridge deliveries or you can drop them into our recycle bin at our store. Phone us today to arrange a collection of your used printer cartridges or to receive a recycling bin for your empty cartridges. Considerations of distance and time need to be assessed with this service.
